From this side of the Atlantic

London 2026, three games: Colts 30, Commanders 13 (done); Eagles v Jaguars, Tottenham, Sun 11 Oct; Jaguars v Texans, Wembley, Sun 18 Oct

London, game one. 60,907 at Tottenham, AP says, after the league cut its remaining ticket prices to £79. Jonathan Taylor had told reporters he'd had tea at dinner, and after one of his touchdowns he lifted an imaginary cup in the end zone: "I had to show the world, hey, I had a really good tea." The Colts have now won their last three games abroad: Frankfurt, Berlin and London. For Washington's rookie quarterback it was his first NFL game: "It was surreal, man, it was absolutely surreal."

London, game two, is Sunday. Eagles v Jaguars, Tottenham, 11 October, 14:30 UK / 15:30 CET; Jacksonville are the home side. Philadelphia arrive 2–2 after two straight defeats, with Saquon Barkley's hamstring and DeVonta Smith (out up to three games) to worry about. Jacksonville are 3–1 and top of their division. Free on Channel 5. Game three is Jaguars v Texans at Wembley on 18 October.

Three things that mattered

1. Three unbeaten teams, three different ways. Kansas City run the ball: Kenneth Walker III has two 170-yard games already, and NFL Research says only Jim Brown and O.J. Simpson have done that in a team's first four games. Minnesota kick: Will Reichard has made 31 field goals in a row. San Francisco protect their quarterback: Brock Purdy hasn't been sacked in four games.

2. Backup quarterbacks are winning. Chicago won twice in seven days on their second and third choices. The Giants are 3–1 on Jameis Winston. Cleveland's Deshaun Watson, back from two tears of his right Achilles, has won three weeks running in the last minutes. The other side of it: Tampa Bay and Washington both ended Sunday on rookies.

3. Five teams are 0–4. Miami, Tennessee, Houston, the Chargers and Tampa Bay. AP: the only team ever to reach the play-offs after starting 0–4 is the 1992 San Diego Chargers. Houston and Tennessee play each other on Sunday, so one of them won't be 0–5.

Injuries & fallout

Season over. Brian Burns (Giants pass rusher): torn ACL now confirmed, plus a torn meniscus. ⚠️ Edgerrin Cooper (Packers linebacker): an Achilles tear is reported, not yet confirmed by the club. Mario Edwards Jr. (Texans defensive lineman): torn ACL, on injured reserve.

Quarterbacks to watch this week. Lamar Jackson (Ravens): left ankle, reported day to day before Sunday night in Atlanta. Marcus Mariota (Commanders): knee, expected to miss time; Jayden Daniels (elbow) could be back on Sunday if he practises fully. Baker Mayfield (Buccaneers): still out, and Jalon Daniels starts again on Thursday. Caleb Williams (Bears): hamstring, still out.

Out for now. Saquon Barkley (Eagles): hamstring. Ja'Marr Chase (Bengals): concussion. Patrick Surtain II (Broncos cornerback): ankle, no update. Travis Etienne (Saints): on injured reserve, misses tonight.

Off the field. Pittsburgh traded cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to Dallas for a 2028 second-round pick; he played on Sunday. The Giants released Odell Beckham Jr. And 49ers owner Jed York was suspended for six games and fined $500,000; the three games he has already missed count.

The table, minus the noise

Three teams are 4–0: Kansas City, Minnesota and San Francisco. Five are 0–4: Miami, Tennessee, Houston, the Chargers and Tampa Bay. The NFC South is led by a 2–2 Carolina, and tonight's winner joins them.

  • AFC East: Bills 3–1, Patriots 2–2, Jets 1–3, Dolphins 0–4
  • AFC North: Browns 3–1, Ravens 3–1, Steelers 2–2, Bengals 2–2
  • AFC South: Jaguars 3–1, Colts 2–2, Titans 0–4, Texans 0–4
  • AFC West: Chiefs 4–0, Raiders 3–1, Broncos 2–2, Chargers 0–4
  • NFC East: Giants 3–1, Eagles 2–2, Cowboys 2–2, Commanders 1–3
  • NFC North: Vikings 4–0, Bears 3–1, Packers 2–2, Lions 2–2
  • NFC South: Panthers 2–2, Saints 1–2, Falcons 1–2, Buccaneers 0–4
  • NFC West: 49ers 4–0, Seahawks 3–1, Rams 2–2, Cardinals 1–3

Full standings.

Every result, with the story

Last Monday night (Week 3, Tuesday 01:15 UK)
Bears 27–7 Eagles — Chicago started Case Keenum, 38, their third-choice quarterback, in his first game since December 2023. He threw two touchdowns and ran in a third, and NFL.com says he's the oldest Bear ever to score a rushing touchdown. The game turned when Jalen Hurts was taken off for a concussion check and his backup was intercepted in the end zone. Philadelphia were outscored 17–0 after half-time. Keenum: "I got knocked down my whole career. I just keep getting up."

Thursday night (Friday 01:15 UK)
Browns 27–24 Steelers — Pittsburgh tied it 24–24 with about 1:42 left, Aaron Rodgers sneaking in the two-point conversion himself. Deshaun Watson then completed four of five passes, and Andre Szmyt kicked a career-long 56-yard field goal with 10 seconds left. It's Watson's third fourth-quarter comeback in three weeks, and Cleveland are 3–1. Watson on the kick: "I knew it was money."

Sunday, London (14:30 UK)
Colts 30–13 Commanders — Washington led 6–0 on two field goals, then lost their quarterback: Marcus Mariota, already the backup, hurt his knee on the second drive. Rookie Athan Kaliakmanis, the 223rd pick in the draft, played the rest, and threw a 47-yard touchdown to make it 17–13. Indianapolis pulled away in the fourth quarter. Jonathan Taylor ran for two touchdowns, both from five yards, and AP says he is now the all-time leading rusher in NFL games played outside the US. More on London below.

Sunday, 18:00 UK
Giants 36–24 Cardinals — Arizona had fourth-and-goal, six points down, on the last play. Deonte Banks intercepted Jacoby Brissett and ran it back 98 yards. Jameis Winston, starting for the injured Jaxson Dart, threw three touchdowns, and the Giants are alone at the top of their division at 3–1.

Cowboys 34–30 Texans — CeeDee Lamb caught 17 passes for 189 yards, both career highs, and the last one was the winning touchdown with 40 seconds left. Houston, who led by ten in the third quarter, are 0–4.

Packers 17–14 Buccaneers — Tampa Bay, without Baker Mayfield, started undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels. His two interceptions led to ten Green Bay points. The Bucs are 0–4 for the first time since 2013. Packers linebacker Edgerrin Cooper was carted off with an Achilles injury.

Jaguars 22–17 Bengals — On fourth-and-10 with 50 seconds left, Cincinnati's Chase Brown was tackled a yard short of the first down. Trevor Lawrence beat Joe Burrow for the first time in four tries, college included. Cincinnati lost Ja'Marr Chase to a concussion. Lawrence: "it's not pretty, but find a way."

Rams 24–20 Eagles — Philadelphia led by ten late and went for it on fourth down instead of kicking a short field goal. They didn't make it, and Kyren Williams scored twice in the last four minutes. The Eagles went 0 for 12 on third down, and Saquon Barkley hurt his hamstring. Nick Sirianni: "You go for it and don't get it, that's on the head coach."

Patriots 29–26 Bills — Buffalo's first defeat. Drake Maye had six interceptions in his first three games and turned it over twice more here, then threw three touchdowns, the last a one-handed catch by Efton Chism with 1:50 left. Josh Allen was intercepted going deep in the final minute.

Bears 23–12 Jets — Chicago's second win in seven days without their starting quarterback, this time on Tyson Bagent. They ran 89 plays to the Jets' 32 and made a club-record 34 first downs; AP says no team has had more first downs than its opponent had plays since 1999.

Ravens 24–18 Titans — Baltimore led 24–7 at half-time, then lost Lamar Jackson to an ankle injury on the last play of the half and didn't score again. Tennessee are 0–4.

Sunday, 21:05 / 21:25 UK
Vikings 15–10 Dolphins — Minnesota are 4–0 without scoring a touchdown: five Will Reichard field goals. At the end, T.J. Hockenson was clear for a touchdown and slid down short on purpose so Minnesota could run out the clock. Miami are 0–4.

49ers 24–14 Broncos — 3–3 at half-time. Denver fumbled a punt in the third quarter and San Francisco scored touchdowns on three straight drives, the last a 56-yard catch-and-run by George Kittle, who turns 33 on Friday. Kittle: "Always outrunning younger, old teammates is always a good time."

Chiefs 30–27 Raiders — Two 3–0 teams. Las Vegas led 19–17 with under five minutes left. Kenneth Walker III then scored twice, the second straight after the Raiders fumbled the kick-off, and ran for 177 yards in all. Kansas City are 4–0.

Seahawks 30–23 Chargers — Both teams threw an interception on their first play, which AP says hasn't happened since at least 1991. Seattle, the champions, led 27–6 and held on. The Chargers are 0–4.

Sunday night (Monday 01:20 UK)
Panthers 32–26 Lions — Carolina's Tetairoa McMillan caught passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns, and the Panthers, 1–2 a week ago, are top of their division for now.

Monday night (Tuesday 01:15 UK)
